This page explains what personal information Head Start Dog Training collects through this website, why, and what you can ask me to do with it. I’ve kept it short and plain. If anything’s unclear, just ask.
Who I am
Head Start Dog Training is run by Katya, a dog trainer in Edinburgh. I’m responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach me on 07366 464040 or through the contact form on this site.
What I collect
When you send me a message through the contact form, I receive what you choose to tell me:
- your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number
- details about your dog, such as their name, breed and age
- which service you’re interested in, your message and how you heard about me
Why I use it
I use your details to reply to your enquiry, arrange and deliver training, and keep in touch about sessions you’ve booked. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into an agreement, and then providing the service you’ve asked for.
I don’t sell your information, I don’t use it for advertising, and I won’t add you to a mailing list.
How long I keep it
I keep enquiries and client details only for as long as I need them to reply to you and provide your training, plus any period I’m required to keep records for by law. After that I delete them.
Who else is involved
This website is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, it processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Those logs aren’t used to identify you.
Some pages show an embedded Google Map so you can see where classes happen. When a map loads, Google receives technical information such as your IP address and may set its own cookies, under Google’s privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
Apart from those maps, the website doesn’t use analytics, advertising trackers or social media widgets, and it doesn’t set cookies of its own. The fonts are served from this site, not from a third party.
If you follow a link to Instagram or another site, that site’s own privacy policy applies.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask me to:
- give you a copy of the personal information I hold about you
- correct anything that’s wrong or incomplete
- delete your information
- restrict or stop using it, or object to how I use it
- send your information to you or someone else in a portable format
How to ask, or complain
Get in touch by phone or through the contact form and I’ll reply within one month. There’s no charge.
If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk), though I’d appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Children
Children are very welcome at family sessions, but enquiries should come from a parent or guardian. I don’t knowingly collect personal information from children through this website.
Changes
If I change how I use personal information, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
