Puppy Classes in Edinburgh

Five Saturday classes where your puppy learns good manners and to listen to you, even with other dogs around. Groups are small, so every pup gets proper attention from me.

Why puppy classes

Classes give your puppy great mental stimulation and safe socialisation. They’re a calm place to learn important behaviours with other dogs around, which is exactly what helps your dog listen to you when there are distractions.

Your pup learns good manners, how to greet other dogs properly, to listen to you around other dogs, and to keep working when things get exciting.

How it works

  1. Ask about the next block

    Get in touch and I’ll tell you when the next five weeks start.

  2. Five Saturdays together

    Your pup learns the essentials with other dogs around, in my garden in Colinton or the scout hall in winter.

  3. Practise at home

    After each class you get a written summary, next steps and video clips, so you know exactly what to work on.

  4. Carry on to Level 2

    When you finish, Level 2 takes your training into real life, including classes in the park.

You’ll be training with me, Katya

I left my office job to follow my passion, and now I train dogs and their people in Edinburgh. I only use reward-based training, because it makes learning fun for you and your dog.

And then there’s Steve, my ruby Cavalier. Head Start wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for him.

Where

Classes run in my secluded garden in Colinton, a minute up the road from Colinton Village. In winter we move indoors to the 108th Pentland Scout Group Hall on Spylaw Street (EH13 0JT).

  • Puppy Classes Level 2

    The next step once your pup has finished Level 1. We build on everything you’ve learned and take it outside, with the last two classes in the park for real-life practice.

    £140 for a block of 5 classes

  • New Puppy Program

    A puppy is coming and there are a million questions swirling in your head. In one relaxed session I’ll help you get the house, the routine and yourself ready, so your pup starts well from day one.

    £90 for the consultation and guide

  • Private Training

    For a specific issue, or when you’d just like a more personal approach. We start with a proper conversation, then I build a training plan around you and your dog.

    £85 initial consultation, then £55 per session
